Eco-Friendly Furniture: CodeGreen Style
The best way to be eco-friendly when it comes to picking furniture is using old furniture. It’s cheaper, better quality, and you can always paint or refurbish. As well, old furniture tends to have exciting stories behind them. For example, one of my favorite pieces I currently have in my apartment is my bed posts that came from an insane asylum that was shut down. The bed posts had clearly been beat up badly by someone who wasn’t happy when my parents found them for me, but they were sanded and repainted (besides the beat marks just give the posts more character right). Another piece that I have lays in my dining room area and is from the 1950’s.
Its a table and set of four chairs that belonged to a women’s grandmother and is awesome for apartments because it fits into square areas perfectly. My final piece I love to brag about is my couch that I got a consignment shop for five-hundred even.
It’s several years old but was well taken care of by it’s previous owners. I was even more lucky that the shop I bought it from stored it for me until I moved into my apartment.
